What is the Bijrani zone famous for?
Bijrani zone was quite famous during the British era as it was a famous shooting spot and is still famous among tourists for its tigers. This zone has most of the tiger population of Corbett. Entry to the Bijrani Safari Zone is through Aamdanda Gate. The topography of this zone consists of large grasslands called Chaurs and dense Sal forest, plenty of river streams. All this makes this zone nothing less than the popular Dhikala zone. In addition to the magnificent Bengal tigers and elusive leopards, the Corbett National Park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including wild elephants, black bears, and various species of deer and antelopes such as Chital, Sambar, and Hog Deer. Furthermore, for bird enthusiasts, this park is a paradise, with approximately 600 species of both resident and migratory birds gracing its skies and landscapes, making it an ideal destination for birdwatching.
Jeep safari to Bijrani Zone
When you are planning to go on a safari in the Bijrani zone, it is important that you have made prior bookings. This permit is needed as the forest officials check it at the entry gate of different zones. Safari in this region is quite popular for wildlife tours. Just like any other safari zone in Jim Corbett, the Bijrani Safari zone also allows safari in two timings; one is early morning and the other is in the evening.
For people interested in staying within the safari zone, there are two forest rest houses established. However, there is an issue with electricity in these rest houses and the power sockets here do not work properly. Lights and fans would be working fine for limited hours. Food is available at the canteen. The names of the two rest houses are Bijrani and Malani. If you prefer comfort and luxury, you can stay at one of the resorts in Jim Corbett.
